About Us

Located in Fairview, PA Caliber Custom Hotrods is owned and operated by Brian Palmer.  Brian has professional experience on high-end hotrods for over 12 years.

The summer before his junior year of high school Brian started working for Bonnells Rod Shop. He got on co-op early in the school year and transitioned to full-time immediately after graduation. While working there, Brian was involved in several high-end custom projects. Starting in the body shop he would block cars and prep them for painting. Then he moved to the fab shop. Eventually handling upholstery and even some complete builds. Between coworkers and weekend workshops, including conversations with other national builders, Brian learned everything he could from some of the most elite people in the industry.

In January 2020, Brian left Bonnell's to pursue a career as an engineer at Fralo Industries. While still doing cars on the side, nights, and weekends he opened Caliber Custom Hotrods out of his house. Intending for it to just be a side hobby.

At this time, Brian recruited a group of several local key players to finish a car started at Bonnells. Including his dad, Phil Palmer (owner of Precise Refinish). The crew teamed up and finished Paul Kistler's 1935 Willys Model 77. Debuting at SEMA in 2021 and competing in the battle of the builders.

Quickly learning that sitting behind a desk wasn't cutting it, Brian, with a lot of motivation from his wife, decided it was time to go back to Hotrods full-time.

In March of 2023, Brian went part-time at Fralo to focus on hotrods more and grow the business. 6 months later, things were far too busy in the shop and it was time to go head first, all in.
